WELLSLEY HILLS, MA (June 1, 2005) – Kate McLellan, Principal of The Pentad Group, located in Wellesley Hills, Mass., has named Elizabeth Brown, Founder and President of Softeach USA and Heather Stone, Partner at Edwards & Angell LLP to their Board of Advisors . The first quarterly Board of Advisors meeting is scheduled for June 24, 2005.
Having started her own firm and being an entrepreneur, Elizabeth’s knowledge and experience with start-up companies will be very valuable to The Pentad Group’s as a Board of Advisor. Elizabeth’s firm, Softeach, Inc., is a 21 year old national computer training and consulting firm for business users. With a staff of over eighty instructors, Softeach, Inc provides customized, on site computer training locally and nationally. World in 1995 and has served on the City of Newton, Massachusetts Economic Development Commission.
Heather Stone’s extensive law experience will be equally important to the success of the Board of Advisors of The Pentad Group. “I look forward to sharing not only legal advice, but general business advice, as I have worked closely with so many start-up organizations,” Stone said. ““My professional background has instilled the importance of sharing experiences and learning from others. We must find ways to work together to continue to find innovative and creative ways to serve the consumers throughout the Commonwealth.”
Heather recently joined Edwards & Angell as a partner in the Boston office focusing on private equity and venture capital. She has over 12 years of experience in the range of domestic and cross-border corporate and securities transactions and fund formation work. Heather has represented many private equity firms, as well as many growth-oriented software, emerging technology and media companies in all stages of development, from start-ups to multi-national companies. Prior to Edwards & Angell, Heather was a partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault in Boston. Heather is a board or advisory committee member of several non-profit groups, including The Commonwealth Institute, an organization that helps women entrepreneurs and CEO’s grow their businesses through peer-to-peer mentoring and other programs, and The Kelly Packowski MS Foundation, which focuses on awareness, education and assistance for people suffering from multiple sclerosis.
