Outstanding performance makes Kate McLellan Award Winner 

 

WELLESLEY HILLS, MA (October 5, 2006) – Tom Goltz, Principal of The Pentad Group, located in Wellesley Hills, Mass., is pleased to announce that Kate McLellan received The Boston Business Journal’s 40-under 40 award.   

 

The Boston Business Journal hosts the event each year to honor 40 rising stars in the business community throughout the Boston area.  Awards are based on the individual’s business success, community service and the expected impact they will make in the Boston business community throughout their career.  This year’s event took place at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston on Thursday, October 5.

 

McLellan has been in the accounting and finance professional services industry for more than 10 years. McLellan is one of the four founders and President of the Pentad Group, a profitable, 20 person, women owned professional services business serving corporate clients in the metro Boston Area.   Kate’s responsibilities include business development, operations management, human resources, and overall strategy for the firm.

 

Prior to joining The Pentad Group, Kate spent 8 years in the consulting industry at Parson Consulting, the 13th largest consultancy in the world, named the #1 fastest growing company by Inc. magazine in October 2000.  Kate started at Parson Consulting as a Business Development Manager.  In 1999, Kate was promoted to Managing Director of the Boston Office, where she grew revenue from $6M - $12M over a 5 year period.  Prior to her consulting career, Kate worked for a CBS affiliate in Chicago as an Investigative Reporter, where she lead several research projects under the direction of Pam Zekman, a renown Investigative Reporter. 

 

Kate is a member of The Boston Club, The Commonwealth Institute, The MRG Networking Group, The Irish-American Club, and is the CFO and a Board Member of The Kelly Packowski MS Foundation, a non-profit organization. 

 

McLellan, who has a BS in journalism from Bradley University and a MS in Journalism from Columbia College, resides in South Boston with her husband, John. The couple has two children, Corinne, age 3, and John, age 3 months.
