THE PENTAD GROUP HIRES CHRISTINE DOWNEY AS INTERNAL AUDIT PRACTICE DIRECTOR

Seasoned Internal Audit Practice Director Joining The Pentad Group Team

WELLESLEY HILLS, MA (September 2, 2008) – Joel Adler, Principal of The Pentad Group, located in Wellesley Hills, MA, is pleased to announce that Christine Downey was hired as an Internal Audit Practice Director.  Christine’s responsibilities will include developing the Internal Audit practice at The Pentad Group, which will involve hiring, developing and managing delivery teams, as well as developing and managing client relationships.    

Downey, an Internal Audit industry veteran with 20 years of experience, has worked in many facets of Internal Audit, with extensive banking industry experience.  She has managed financial, operational and compliance audits, as well as implemented audit strategies and best practice initiatives.  She has designed quality assurance programs and conducted reviews.  In addition, Downey has conducted training and hired and managed staff.

Downey began her career at The Savings Bank in Wakefield, MA then moved onto Sterling Bank, where she was Vice President of Internal Audit and Compliance.  She later joined The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston as an analyst, then moved onto First Essex Bank as the Director of Audit.  Most recently, Downey was a Senior Manager of Corporate Audit Professional Practices at Fidelity Investments.

Downey, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration from Boston College, resides in Reading, MA with her husband and two children.  She holds a Certified Bank Auditor designation and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.  Downey volunteers her time on a School Advisory Council and as a PTO member.
